A Day at Mission Bay

Welcome to Mission Bay!
Saturday at the beach! Lots of people around doing the same!
Mission Bay beach! :)
The water was a bit brisk! When I got in they tried to tell me it wasn't, but I have proof saying otherwise. In the background is the Rangitoto volcano.
The 'White Lady!' Quite literally a van on wheels that has burgers, fries and milkshakes. It's famous for it's food and embodiment of the culture of Auckland.
And has quite a reputation! Our visiting Kiwi friend pointed it out to us, after of course we had pizza at a NY style pizzeria on the same street.
It actually reminded me a bit of Steak and Shake!

At the counter of the 'White Lady.' This is one of my Kiwi friends from the South Island. Vege-burger with bacon? No way to lose.
A beautiful sunset over the city to finish off a fantastic day.

  1. Nice photos--NZ looks lovely. As for getting in the water, doesn't NZ have plenty of hot springs?

  2. It is lovely! And yep, NZ has a bunch of hot springs. None located right here in Auckland, but we did go in some in the Taupo Volcanic Zone, near the city Rotorua. We also cooked eggs in some! :)
